Sinharaja rain forest

 


There are lots of forest in our country. one of them the Sinharaja is taking a major place in our hearts. Because the Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a forest reserve and a biodiversity hotspot in Sri Lanka. It is of international significance and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site by UNESCO. However, when i was child I was able to visit to The Sinharaja rain forest as today. Sadly, I could see some differences in early and today. the density of the forest has been decreased, the biodiversity also has decreased. there are cut down trees, many buildings etc. But early, we could see evergreen land insisted of that. who is responsible for that? Aren't we responsible too?😕

Esala perahera is  one of the most significant religious  festival in our country. Frotunatly.I had the opportunity to participate in it for several times. this procession is held in August every year . this perahera is very important than many other religious pageants as the sacred  tooth relic is taken out for the occasion and that is not limited to one day because it is held for several days. Hoverer during the festival season kandy becomes an over crowded city even at night .as well as Dalada Maligawa ,streets decorates in brilliant way .Esala perahera is including many tradition event such as dancing beating drums & singing ets .
